    i emailed burger records and they said that the new cassette would be out next week and that you will be able to order it from their myspace. they didn't give me any pricing information though. it's been a long time since i've bought a tape.

    hi this is burger records! we put out the carefree++ cassette! it's got 4 unreleased songs and devon added overdubs to all the other songs on it that appear on the album carefree. He just added a bunch of little things, it's cool! the tapes are only $5 and you can buy them from www.burgerrecords.com, i will tell devon hello for you all if you'd like!

    for anyone who hasn’t heard the tape yet, or was curious about the content that differs from the cd:

    Forthcomings, Rats, Cold fair, and Shattered are the unreleased songs.
    Shattered is the song you hear on the CD when you rewind from track one.
    Cold fair was somewhere before, because i found it in my itunes under a “fcmm” label. don’t know from when though.
    Rats is a studio recording. Same song that was on the Reno CD. Sounds really awesome.
    Forthcomings we’ve all heard by now.

    There’s a lot of little extra content throughout the whole tape. little sound effects and noises, extra singing preceding songs, a lot of musical banter, and a small clip of “black water” from the reno cd at the end of the tape. I think that the tape version shows a little more personality than the cd. it’s fun, and the songs are still great.

    when the tapes sell out i might rip the newer songs and post them.

    what program do you use to rip songs from cassettes? i bought the tape, but i've only listened to it once because i don't have a tape player and it would be much more convenient if i could get it on my zune.

    i’m going to use audacity with a headphone plug from my stereo to my mic port in my computer. it should work. i did the same trick to rip some fcmm vinyl way back.

    i think i’ll do this now.
